Jennifer Turnquist lives with her family in the suburbs of St. Paul. After earning a BA in psychology from Drew University, she worked for several years in a neurophysiology lab at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Later, she switched to freelance copyediting, a job that involved streamlining and improving the clarity of dozens of natural science articles and book chapters.

When not writing, she enjoys playing the piano, attempting to improve her tourist-level German-language skills, gardening with Minnesota native plants, and, of course, reading. Her first published story appeared in Cleaver Magazine in 2018.
